Prayers, Wishes, Felicitations, and Celebrations on Eid ul Fitr

Certainly, Eid brings excitement and happiness. Although in this time and place, the reasons for happiness are becoming more and more elusive. 

The world generally has become a dangerous place, much more dangerous for the weak. The rule of power and force and the philosophy of might is right has taken roots firmly. We are the weak ones, and we pay heavily due to it.

Closer to home, law and order has crumbled, and people are under severe threats of all kinds. The law enforcement agencies cannot be entirely blamed because the quantum of problem has become nothing less than humongous.

Few Urdu verses expressing various emotions about Eid are presented.

عید کا چاند تم نے دیکھ لیا

چاند کی عید ہو گئی ہوگی

ادریس آزاد

عید کا دن ہے گلے آج تو مل لے ظالم

رسم دنیا بھی ہے موقع بھی ہے دستور بھی ہے

قمر بدایونی

تجھ کو میری نہ مجھے تیری خبر جائے گی

عید اب کے بھی دبے پاؤں گزر جائے گی

ظفر اقبال

جس طرف تو ہے ادھر ہوں گی سبھی کی نظریں

عید کے چاند کا دیدار بہانہ ہی سہی

امجد اسلام امجد

ہم نے تجھے دیکھا نہیں کیا عید منائیں

جس نے تجھے دیکھا ہو اسے عید مبارک

کہیں ہے عید کی شادی کہیں ماتم ہے مقتل میں

کوئی قاتل سے ملتا ہے کوئی بسمل سے ملتا ہے

قلب و نگاہ کی یہ عید اف یہ مآل قرب و دید

چرخ کی گردشیں تجھے مجھ سے چھپا کے رہ گئیں

کہتے ہیں عید ہے آج اپنی بھی عید ہوتی

ہم کو اگر میسر جاناں کی دید ہوتی

عید خوشیوں کا دن سہی لیکن

اک اداسی بھی ساتھ لاتی ہے

فرحت احساس

زہے قسمت ہلال عید کی صورت نظر آئی

جو تھے رمضان کے بیمار ان سب نے شفا پائی
