Muneeb Malhotra   Credit: Dr Photographer Credit: Hamayoon Riaz Preamble 14 August is not just another date in our calendar; it is the heartbeat of our national identity. It is the day when, in 1947, a dream was realized, a homeland where people could live with dignity, freedom, and self-determination. Today, as Pakistan celebrates its 78th Independence Day, we find ourselves reflecting on our journey, a journey filled with struggles, triumphs, and persistent challenges. News Image News Image News Image News Image Disclaimer: This is not a political post. I do not subscribe to any political party. It is a common person’s problem who is living and working here. Political ideologies died long ago. What is left are pure commercial interests, which do not interest any person who feels she/he has a stake in this country. I don’t have a fixed internet line, the one I have is also data-based device, so the internet also went dead. I knew a political...

Owing to its reach and understanding it also directs growth and progress in certain directions. All this is done through formulating relevant policies. In Pakistan, we suffer in this area because our elected policy makers are not qualified to undertake this task and other stake holders are not invited. Or, some people with vested interests influence policy making to their advantage while hurting others. Another issue is that we are not con...

Pharma Veterans welcomes sharing of knowledge and wisdom by Veterans for the benefit of Community at large . Pharma Veterans Blog  is published by Asrar Qureshi on WordPress , the top blog site. Please email to asrar@asrarqureshi.com for publishing your contributions here . Independence Day came and went. We had a set of usual activities to celebrate Independence Day with ‘zeal and zest’. Some usual TV programs which were fitted into long commercials. The anchors and participants get younger and though they certainly express excitement, but they have relative lack of knowledge of Pakistan concept, the value of freedom and our responsibilities as the citizens of Pakistan. It will correspond to 73 rd Anniversary of Independence. All good things can only be appreciated if these are seen in comparison with their opposites. Similarly, Independence shall only be understood and recognized when seen in relation to living under an alien regime, most likely as a minority. Muslims in India are a case in point. Their number was 182 million in 2017 and may be close to 200 million now; almost same as the Mus...

I pray that Allah Grants relief to all of us from difficulties. Aameen I pray that Allah Makes it easy for us to overcome losses. Aameen Eid ul Azha is here. Like Eid ul Fitr, this Eid is also shadowed by COVID19. I pass by two goat/cattle markets on the way to and from office. The number of visitors has been rising every day. The notice says ‘No Entry Without Mask – Fine for Violation Rs. 500’. The buyers are wearing masks diligently. I wish to raise few questions here. It is interesting to note that on every Eid ul Azha, lot of people spend a lot of time...
